Stolen Phone

Someone was in my class was given a stolen phone. They asked if I could get it to work for them (I said no, then lied that I could use it however.) Short story short, I'm now in possession of a stolen phone.
I've come to you MPGH to ask what I should do with it. I've already "contacted" Sprint about me finding the phone (Did not give specifics.)
I'm torn between returning the phone (It's an S2 "epic" white.), or keeping it and using it like an iPod touch.
Currently the phone is really modified to help make it untraceable.

Are you that dense? It's a CDMA phone meaning it uses the ESN to activate instead of a sim card. I not only changed the ESN, but the original is blacklisted from sprint (in my post I say it can't be activated.)
