They taught Eren how to use his 3D gear.

Have they not even mentioned the basement in the anime i thought it was pretty early in the manga in any case my bet is its just the father porn collection nothing about titans so just forget about it.

After Eren plugs the hole up, they go there... so probably 2-3 episodes from now.

In the manga I'm a little past the part were they met the female titan and ran her off.

I read to around chapter 35-40 and if the anime follows the manga right after they plug the hole

 

eren leaves the city with a group and eventually fights the female titan and after returning to the city they find out who the titan is that's around where i stopped and i don't recall them going to the basement at that point so it might be a while depending on how much story they put into the anime i guess

The manga is only like 45 chapters, you can read it in like....1-2 hours tops.

I'm kind of sad those two were the titans, but even more so because there is just SO much more that hasn't been explained at ALL yet.

Exactly. It doesn't get resolved.. it gets more and more confusing.. but the resolution will be legendary.. Many things will be explained...
But I wish they could just reach the cellar already..
