Psycho Pass is pretty good and i would suggest it too, but it is pretty violent at time so its not for everyone.

Clannad + Clannad After Story (Clannad isn't a masterpiece, a lot of people say it isn't great. But you need to watch it to get to After Story which is a true masterpiece of an anime)

I really enjoyed it myself. One of the best 'Action' shows that i have seen. I gave it a 8/10 i think

Yeah Black Lagoon and Jormungand are one of those modern time action animes that have some pretty good action fighting and also that they both are quite similar, wish there was more like that than fantasy sword fighting only Shingeki no Kyojin is an exception and all that stuff but that ain't half bad either.
