I know how katanas are made i just need to get off my lazy ass and get a job so i can fund it.

It's called Tamahagane, it's a japanese steel, which consists of many layers of steel with different carbon concentrations.

I think there's only like one place that still make tamahagane traditionally and there's no way i would waste such good(and expensive) metal trying to make a katana with no experience but i may try making my own steel after i get good enough it wouldn't be as pure as traditionally made tamahagane but it would be about as close as i could get.
