SUMo is an auto update notification system. Basically it monitors your software and the updates available, and notifies you when there is an update available for said software. It's like an advanced Windows Update Manager, except for everyday software, and it doesn't automatically download and install the updates, just informs you that there are updates. It's the best update manager I have used, very accurate, allows you to ignore certain software, and you can even have it check for Beta updates if you wish.
FreeMind is a thought organizer. When programming, charts are used to plan the software out before the coding begins. This is sort of like that, but with everyday life. It's software that helps you get your ideas down and organized in a manner that helps boost productivity, creativity, and ability to do so. I've used it from doing schoolwork and studying, making music, and organizing my nootropic compounds based on biological and neurological factors for favorable performance. It's powerful in making sure you don't forget your shit.

I used Notepad and Notepad++, everytime it turned into a clusterfuck. Luckily with FreeMind, each individual project is saved as it's own file, and you can track what each portion of the project or idea leads to what with proper tracking. Also, check out Vym on SourceForge, it's the same thing but a bit more graphical which may be of assistance.
I use gyazo more than anything else or utorrent
