He didn't bash the Christianity at all. He isn't comparing what the Christians say against what the Muslims say(except for the Mary part, but then again, its truely written in their book, so why shouldn't he?). Other then that, he hasn't compared them. He isn't being ignorant, he is being real.

Several thousands of years ago the age difference is immense, people died so much earlier. Therefore the age of 12-14 is basically half through their life.
