[TUT]Change your IP!

Hey guys this here is a tut on how to change your IP when you are connected to a router and your IP is dynamic (meaning that your ISP controls your IP). This is useful when you are IP banned.
Let me repeat: THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOUR CONNECTED TO A ROUTER, AND ONLY IF YOUR IP IS DYNAMIC! Also if you have DSL, don't do this. If you have DSL just restart your Modem and Router and your IP should have changed.
Anyways lets begin!

Step 1: Go to your router settings. To do this, open up your internet browser and type in the address bar the IP of your router (NOT YOUR MODEM). Make sure it starts with "https://" without quotes. For example, mine looks like this: https://192.168.10.10/

Step 2: After you are in your router settings, find where you can change your MAC address. For me, it is right here:

Step 3: Change your MAC to anything you want. Just make sure that the first column is "00" without quotes.

Step 4: After that, turn off your modem and router for about 1 minute. After 1 minute, turn them back on.

Step 5: Now go to your Network Settings on your computer. To get there, click on the "Start" button, then click on "Control Panel". Make sure that the Control Panel is in classic view. Then click on "Network Connections".

Step 6: Now find the icon that resembles your internet. Usually if your connected to an Ethernet cored it will be "Local Area Connection". Usually if your connected wirelessly it will be "Wireless" or something like that. Right click on the icon and click "Disable". Leave it disabled for about 10 seconds.

Step 7: Now re-enable your internet by right clicking on the icon and clicking "Enable".

Step 8: Now your internet should be working again and you should have a new IP. To check this, go to www.whatsmyip.org and your IP should have changed. If not, I don't know why!

There ya go guys

**********EDIT************

Well alot of you aren't getting this. Let me clarify. If you have a dynamic IP, that means that your IP is decided by your ISP. Usually it changes every 6 months or so. If your IP is dynamic it doesn't change just by typing ipconfig /renew in cmd. If you do that, your ISP just resigns you the same IP. So you have to trick it by changing your MAC.

If you have DSL it changes all the time.

NOW! If your IP is static, you change your IP just by changing the IP. You just enter in whatever IP you want and if its not taken, then you get that ip.

Guys im no noob i understand this stuff.

IF you are on a static IP, you're up a creek without a paddle. However, if you are paying for the static IP, you can usually log into your ISP account, and ask to have a new IP given to you.

thanks for mentioning that, i just changed it.

If your IP is static its easy to change, all you do is just instead of chaning mac, you change the actual IP its self.

That doesnt work. I tried that many times and if it does work, that only works if your connected DIRECTLY to the modem.
