Squeezing a bit more performance out of my 3 year old PC

So I was researching on ways to squeeze more performance out of my old laptop and since I don't have alot of options, I figured that the only major way to improve, other than buying a new laptop, was to upgrade the RAM. I have 4GB DDR3 SODIMM RAM upgradable to 8GB. I was wondering if there's anything else that can help.
I'm running on modded drivers (Royal BNA) and a modded BIOS to increase my video card's dedicated memory.

    Specs:
    Windows 8 Professional RTM Build 9200 x64
Intel Pentium Dual Core T4400 2.2Ghz
    4GB DDR3 SODIMM 800Mhz RAM
Intel GMA 4500m (Royal BNA 3.1.1) Dedicated VRAM @ 192MB; 1.8GB Max DVMT
    Acer Aspire 5738z

Are you insistent on staying with your laptop, or are you open to purchasing a new system?
As it is highly cost inefficient to maintain a system of both that age and quality.
In addition, much more power and quality can be obtained from a Desktop rather than a laptop.

Not worth it. With the onboard Intel GMA graphics you're basically asking for major issues in the future by attempting anything further. It just isn't worth trying to squeeze two or three more FPS out of a game at the cost of your laptop.

Well, as much as I would like to buy a new system, I simply do not have sufficient funds to get one better nor the place where I'm living has many options for building one. I just thought the least I could do was upgrade the physical memory in hopes of slightly better performance. :l Seems that there really is no other option.

You're just trying to polish an old shoe right now.
Ditch the build and grab a whole new PC.

The problem is that attempting to upgrade a system of that considerable age and low quality will end up being more expensive than buying a new system. It's a money-pit.
