I don't even know what game devs earn in any country anyways
I think I'd be happy if I can cover my living costs and rent with a small surplus to save, as long as I create/help create an awesome user experience and having fun doing it.

Instead of being a game dev, you can be a Programmer also known as software engineer..., because Software engineers are needed in developping cars stuff such as Speed limit and shifting, etc..., also used in Operation systems, such as android, ios bank systems(atms), tv's... more better than a game developper !

I thought about that already and some of the classes I will take will cover basic software engineering (The school has 3 different certificates, each have different progression, Game Dev, Game Designer and Game Engineering).

I applied for the Game Dev route because I am not the biggest fan of more advanced software engineering

in my country i can apply for up to 10 different colleges
and i have chosen IT business administration and some medical school

Graphics design developer im quite good at making Charactors for mods etc so ill fit right in if not i'll become a DJ

You also have to realise that a lot of studios don't even bother interviewing people with certificates in game related courses. You have an infinitely higher chance of being employed with a software engineering degree than any kind of "game engineering" qualification.

Psychiatry. Even if I find it is not a career I do not want to pursue, there's a hundred other careers I can choose from in med school.

I can't look too far into the future (career wise), but hopefully I'll be majoring in Computer Science at either UC Berkley, Standford or UC San Diego.
