Meaning that after your body stopped working and all O2 is used up by the brain everything that was You ceases to exist.

Well when you are asleep you are not consciously feeling anything.
But your brain still "collects" data and when you are asleep you still dream (AFAIK sleep is basically the brain processing previously collected data).

Death on the other hand is unimaginably more extreme. I mean you literally cease to exist.
I find that really difficult to grasp and that is probably why a lot of people turn to religion, it is an explanation for something we will never actually know but will all experience.

Personally my opinion, based on the fact that everything is Energy. So technically we are "energy" and energy cant be made or destroyed, so when our body "shuts down" the energy is still there, so maybe our mind is still alive and when we die we see what we wanna see. pretty much just like a dream?
