Anyways, every other week or month TPB goes down for like 2+ hours and everyone thinks the FBI shut it down or someshit but then it comes back up; like always.

The fbi cant shut piratebay down because they dont have illegal content but on the other megaupload needs a forum of rip

The reason its so unstable lately is because they had to move their main servers to another country, because of the FBI and other lobbying groups. Its already been said its going to be shut down at some point, to make way for the new pirate bay

the connection error people were getting was not part of the maintenance, it was the reason for the maintenance

Public trackers are a dying breed. If anyone is serious about torrenting, consider getting invites to the private tracker communities. It is VERY difficult to get an invite these days as a newcomer so get started early.

one of the original founders stepped down a month or so ago, saying we cannot progress if we are too comfortable with having this place always around. basically he urged the rest of the operators to begin to shut it down, so the future of piracy can begin

he wants a new system that will be harder for various agencies to intervene and optimize how users use the service
