MY Review of BF3 [Cod Fan Boy Here]

There game has its up and its down.

First of all, the only gamemode I really play on COD is Groundwar and Domination.

Ups
It has 4 special classes sort of like TF2. If you have a nice balance of the classes, your chances of winning will rise.

Guns all seem balanced except shotguns. The maps are way to open , and the close range spots force you to travel past a very open part of the map to get there. And Unless there's an objective, no one is forced to go in these close range spots. So ya, Shotgun is not weak, just doesn't really have a spot to shine.

Down
Every god dam map has vehicles, Jesus Christ fuck vehicles.

Snippers and LMG are rampant. There's to many spots where you can position yourself so you have a wide view of the map, and everyone is your target. Not gewd.

Most of the people I find go derp with the vehicles.
Maybe because Im a cod fan boy, im more incline to gun on gun gameplay.

I get no joy in destroying a tank. none.

Your opinion reflects my sentiments towards the game. A lot of good things all crammed into shitty maps. I mostly only play TDM or GM on BF3 now because I'm sick of the shitty map designs for Conquest and Rush. The maps in BF2 and BC2 felt fluid and allowed for massive pushes and push backs, it allowed for people to be spread out, without having players feel like they have to run for 5 minutes just to get to the action (especially problematic when half your team is camping the vehicle spawns). There were chokepoints but they were two-sided, both the attackers and defenders could lose that chokepoint at any second with a well timed push, in BF3 Metro, good fucking luck, all you need is an LMG and grenade spam and it's GG. Not to mention the shitty recon class that's only good for camping and the few people who are really good at aggressive recon.

But lucky for us, BF4 looks to have sorted these issues out and is a mix of all the best things from BF2 (commander mode and squad commands), BC2 (advanced destruction) and BF3 (Frostbite and thats about it).

@KING and @Doc basically sums up my feelings with one exception, give me the DAD-12 and I rape ass. That's the only shotgun I can use in the game.

i only like TMD and some conquest maps on BF3.
They ruined all of the rush maps which was my favorite mode from BC2, BF3 was more of a let down for me tbh, but still do have fun with from time to time.

I find Rush to be more fun from a supportive angle. Sit with an RPG or SR in a hidden location and keep an area clear for teammates.
