Zionism vs. Racism.

Ok today I'm going to talk about something that is seen a lot around here and I just never got around to it.



First off: Zionism in general is the belief of a national state for the Jewish people. This is usually "Israel" in most cases.

Now lets get to the problem:

[Zionism is for the land of Israel. Therefore if you are in Israel, your influence on such is pretty much irrelevant as you'd just be another nationalist.(a loyalty and devotion to a nation).]

-Therefore calling someone a "zionist" if they are already in Israel and a citizen, is redundant. They aren't for the cause of Israel any more than you are for the cause of your country to exist.

Now to introduce some statistics:

1. There are 14 million jews in this world. Roughly 0.2% of the world's population.
2. Now 6 million, roughly 42%, live in Israel.


That means that the total possible "zionist" population, is 8 million.(if you count everyone.).

(also if you want to compare there are more than 100 times as many Muslims and Christians as there are Jews).

Now to briefly brush upon Jewish history.

1. They were a race of slaves.
2. Have been persecuted throughout history by pretty much every great "empire" you can think of.
3. Right before Israel's(1948) creation the Holocaust happened(. Effectively killing 36% of the entire jewish population and 60% of the European population.

Now to get to the point:

"Zionist" is a pretty easy term to use, its simple, it makes the other side look bad even though there is never any proof of him or her actually being a Zionist, and anyone who believes in conspiracy theories will instantly take your word for it.

BUT: This term is really just an anti-jewish statement. It basically boils down to "I hate jews". Why? Because it has nothing to do with Zionism. 99% of the time any mention of Zionism is either an Israel citizen, or random people who are jewish. We have people here thinking Muslims are "zionist" just to deny facts provided. It gets pretty ridiculous.

In closing: Stop calling people "zionist" just because they are Jewish, especially when they are not. Stop hating on a minority, it is pathetic.

The whole point of the thread was that you guys are either labeling Israeli's as zionist(duh nationalism), or trying to discredit people by calling them "zionist".

That and the fact that there are more neo-nazi's and other radical groups than there are zionist.
