And what if you dropped it? You would have to spend a good amount of time finding all the components. Not to mention each component would most likely run 40-60 bucks a piece.

The blocks are most likely held in place by the screws+cover.

Pretty neat. But it's probably going to cost more to keep up than just getting a new phone. If you take good care of your phone, you wouldn't need to switch or get a new one often.
