And what if you dropped it? You would have to spend a good amount of time finding all the components. Not to mention each component would most likely run 40-60 bucks a piece.

Depending on what the component is for, and the quality of it (i.e. processor with 1.5Ghz compared to 1 would be more expensive, obviously), prices will obviously vary. Ordering them on the internet would be an easy job, I wouldn't go around in 50 stores looking for them
And as said before, they're held in place, so you can just replace the 1 component it landed on when it dropped.

Its beautiful. Also they say it's held together with screws. Also Iphones are shitty. Also being able to choose your components has alot of potential.

However when you dropped the phone the component blocks would scatter, making the 40 dollar parts fly around all over the place. The plug and play components only work within a controlled environment.
