AMD 6100 FX vs intel?

i got my CPU about 2 years ago and its time to return it and get something else! i got a AMD FX 6100, they dont have my CPU anymore but i get w/e i paid for mine when i got it! so about $140. what would be a good upgrade from the 6100, i wanna go into intel and i am willing to add $60-$80 more ducks to get a better CPU. what i5 or i7 could i get?

For that price range, it's best to still stay away from Intel.
The FX-8350 is a monster of a CPU for $200.

If you're willing to get some more boost from your cpu, just unpark your cores from your 6100 since I have the same cpu and by default 3 of your cores are parked. There's really no need in a new cpu 6100 is pretty good atm.

What do you mean unpark? like unlock my CPU? i know i was able to do that before but i updated my Bio's so i am not sure if i still have that option under my MB settings.

I have the Fx-6100 as well, how did you manage to get your money back from it?

Anyways I would save up a bit more and go for and intel i5.

My friend and I have the exact same build, he has the intel i5 and he gets better frame rates than me.

Well sorry to break it to you but the 6100 is complete shit. I would get the 8350 since otherwise you would need to get a new motherboard. i don't know if op knew of this but you will need a new motherboard to run a intel processor.

@Abbadon The Despoiler i knew i would, i have a warranty on my MB and CPU, so i was going to return them and put a little more cash into the pot to get a better intel, i might go for the 8350, seems like the better pick unless i wanna throw a shit ton of money into it right now for a Good high end intel, @Dreamer what intel does he own? if you know by any chance, cause i could wait another week for a paycheck or 2 and then grab myself a better intel cause i heard they did get a lot better frame rate. also i get my money back cause i got a Warranty on it and when i go back if they don't have my Part they have to give me w/e i paid for it back in store credit and i went in the other day to get a new video card and they didn't have my old CPU anymore or MB.

After looking at the AMD FX 8350 vs some intels, benchmark wise i would have to get an i7 to beat the AMD FX 8350. i would end up paying alot more for an i7 that would be better but cost abit more, AMD seems to get better CPU Ghz then intel as well. less Performance tho if its an i5. over all without throwing aton of money into this, AMD FX 8350 would do it fine, and it would run BF4/watch dogs, call of duty ghost or w/e i feel like playing lol. Thoughts my fello nerd herders?
