What TEDx said about Sam:
Who Sam really is:Sam Hyde is a video journalist and documentary filmmaker from Brooklyn, New York. His work spans every continent and has been featured on television and in print (Discovery, NatGeo, Vice, and others). He recently returned from Mogadishu, the most dangerous city on earth, where he shadowed the heroic al-Mahamud women on their quest to clean up the streets and restore humanity to their war-torn country. In 2014 he will be investigating the methamphetamine trade in Mongolia."
20 minutes of Sam basically using sarcastic humor to completely trash talk what TEDx is.oh yeah he's that bowlcut guy
bowl cut cult - YouTube
The difference between TED and TEDx is that in TEDx the speakers can say anything and not be challenged because they're pitching to audiences that aren't typically educated in that area, and that the ideas people pitch are usually never acted on - that's why he goes into the "ideas are amazing! ideas are like currency!" bit. TEDx is basically a bunch of lazy shits who just throw ideas everywhere, while TED are the true innovators (TEDx and TED are obviously related, but TEDx is more of a sister-sorta thing).
Here are some quotes from the video to convince you to watch it:
Now go watch it."Soda stream is gonna do to the soda industry what the 3d printer did to assault rifles."
"Pollution. War. These are big problems. Fix it! NOW!"
"...state enforced homosexuality..."
"Great ideas don't come in all shapes and sizes. 9/11."
"They're sexualising young girls, and it's getting to the point where even I have a problem with it."
