3 vs 3 possible on starter edition?

hello can we play 3 vs 3 on starter(free edition) i want to play with 2 other friends that have free edition

I think Starter Edition is limited to only 2v2s.

I think you can play all what you want, when the host (in this case you) has the full edition. All people you invite to a party, will temporary get the full edition too. When the host leaves, they have again starter edition. When nobody has full edition and only starter edition, I think you can't play 3v3.
