Is DayZ dead?

I've not seen anything about DayZ within the past month or so, not on here, not on Yotube, not on any Social Media sites and the standalone seems like it's never going to come out and with a few people I know moving away from the DayZ scene. I know a lot of people still play but is it just me or is it actually dying off?

I was so hyped up for the standalone, but that was when Rocket said it would be released in a few months. 1 year and a half later it's still not released and has no hype to me at all.

Still Overwatch gets boring with time, so now I am just playing Takistan life as a terrorist (allah akbar), pretty fun you should try it.

Well, the map developer was in jail in some other country for a while due to some nasty stuff.
So, it might've slowed them down.

Still tons of mods being released but the DayZ Standalone anticipation killed the scene. Maybe eventually it will come out but next-gen games pretty much eliminate it's chance at making it big.

I think we'll see standalone around the holiday season, Rocket fell off the face of the earth to finish working on it I believe.

So, it might've slowed them down.

He's been out for a few months now though so I think they are all good on that part, the reason that it's taking so long is because they completely revamped the game engine instead of using the arma 2.5 engine. As far as I know anyways. Me and @Distraught have been trying out some of the less popular mods and I have to say they are hella fun compared to other games I've played recently. People are just being impatient but I'm completely fine with them taking their time instead of rushing it like Hammerpoint did with WarZ and we all know how terrible their launch was.

Sorry but it's far from terrible, it completely revolutionized the survival genre and led to the creation of a countless amount of communities who have modded Arma 2 and have successfully followed in the DayZ mods footsteps such as Origins/Overwatch/Epoch/Breaking Point/etc. If it's so horrible it wouldn't have the massive fan base that it has now. Have they failed by not releasing when they said they were going to release? Most definitely but like I said I'd rather them take their time then put out a shitty game like WarZ. Not to mention DayZ helped Bohemia sell a incredible amount of copies when Arma wasn't getting any attention at all.

Don't think the standalone will be released, they've been on about "It'll be released at the end of this year"-2012

I've just given up on the damn game being released.
In my opinion the only thing that's keeping DayZ alive is the mods for it :/
