I have windows 8 and the only game I had issues was AoE II (the original one) because displayed pink screen with stripes.

My Old Windows 7 PC broke. Had to get one with Windows 8. But its fine for me so far. Only problems I had was Smite,LoL,Several Steam Games and Minecraft.
But Running in compatibility mode Did the trick.

Prefer 8 tho. Maybe just cause my Windows 7 PC was fucked up all over..

Microsoft add support for gaming in Window 8 but still its not upto the mark for gaming.

Windows 8 has some compatibility issues with older games. Although it can also give a performance increase that can be pretty big depending on setup. A recent example is Battlefield 4. Alot of people had big performance boost after upgrading to 8.

Honestly I don't even know why people hate on win8 so much..I've been running it since beta and I admit there was a couple of issues but most of them have been sorted out by now, especially since 8.1 is out. You should have no issues with a clean install. Most of the problems people post about are because they upgraded from win7 which causes driver instability and crashes. Clean install is always the best option. And yes, win8 does feel faster and smoother than win7 but thats just my experience.

Agree on all points there. I was one of the haters on win 8 when it released but now after being forced to use it on a school laptop it actually isn't that bad. The swipe commands still get on my nerve sometimes but otherwise after removing the start menu it is actually fine.
