Yes they should, but they should also be careful HOW. A large influx of aid can actually be harmful in certain situations.

Though I am really just talking about aid here to disaster-relief or starvation problems, or any of these problems that can be solved with remarkable ease and at little cost to the more rich countries.

Why not help them by showing how to change and providing assistance?

Then if they refuse it would be of their own will, if they accept then the aid will be to assist them so that they will benefit humanity more in the future. The world could use more scientist/researchers and the greater the numbers the more likely advancements will come.

The way I feel the question is being asked is by monetary means such as assisting by buying the poor country items or giving it money. If the richer country was to simply teach the poor country how to not be a shit hole then I agree it is wise of the rich country to do so to gain a possibly powerful ally.

Yeah monetary inflation or assistance to poorer countries like that only leads to problems. The corrupt with abuse it, the economy will become a mess, or they might result in welfare dependent scenario.

But otherwise if done carefully it should be ok.

Imagine these rich countries without these poor countries' cheap labor. Imagine these rich countries without the poor countries' land to build on. We need to realize that these borders that separate us were placed by rich assholes who don't give a fuck about us and that we're all just one big community.

A rich country can have decent labor for a good price within its own borders. The US has all of the resources needed to be self-sufficient (WWII) yet outsources like a bitch to keep healthy relations.

Yeah as much as people hate the west for "stealing resources" but people don't understand the economic downfall if they didn't employ people.

Outsourcing may be seen a way to get cheap labor, and it is, but some society's depend upon that employment.
