What I am saying is it does not require a game update to update cheat signatures in their database, whether it be VAC, TAC, PB, LAC, etc. Often times people do get banned by vac in waves right after an update, but technically that usually means the cheat is already in their database and they have been waiting to do a ban wave. Many people, myself included, have been banned months after using an "undetected" hack when the ban wave hits and have not used it in months. That means that they had the cheat signature in their database long before they actually banned anyone for using it. Thinking that you are safe so long as the version hasn't updated is not necessarily true. The updates change the offsets, and in many cases they do seem to log if you hit an old offset so if you open a hack that is out of date after an update. In many other cases the update just changes the offsets and the creator updates it and the hack lives on. I have been using hacks in COD since COD2.
