You can see how some countries who claims to have no religion adopt their own set of morals and ethics to follow by; is that not religious ideas?

    Another point,
Religion is so powerful is because of the moral relativism innate in atheism. When chaos and social disparity becomes overwhelming, religion unites people under a single moral code, whether that be "good" or "bad", it is unity nonetheless.
Religion is a connection between people.

In every religion there is a god, God is something which only a normal healthy (wondering) functioning brain can only understand! , and realize what the truth is.

I'd consider religion as a means to keep us at bay. Religion is a way to preserve morality and peace but now that religion itself is being wrongly interpreted, people have gone so deep into it that they would do anything to rid the world of anyone who refuses to have faith in their code. Religion is a means to control people, To invoke the fear of superstition. Once you see how the world really is, You will instantly realize how stupid the concept of religion is.

In its original and purest form, religion (or more basically, the belief in deities) strives to explain the unexplainable. Nearly all of the earliest gods were based upon the source of an unexplained occurrence. Due to humanity's vast ignorance during this time, this resulted in a large number of gods or supernatural beings. The sun, the moon the ocean, earth, wind, fire, death, life, rain etc. all would spawn deities in early civilizations. Religions formed for other purposes didn't arrive until thousands of years later.

Hopefully in time, Abrahamic religions will die out just as Hellenistic religion and Egyptian religion. Eventually it will be a minority following, I just wished I'd be able to see that happen within my lifespan.

As pascal wager said, it is better to believe in a religion and be wrong than the other way around. I don't care what people believe in, all I want is to be there at the judgement day observing people's reactions (if there is a judgement day).

Yeah, not for another 100 year i'd say, when information/internet finally takes over.

AND THE REIGN OF SKYNET BEGINS!!!!

nah, it will die out with technology increasing.

Actually, it would better to not believe in religion.

Because almost all the religion's have a "do not pray to another god" message, so if you are wrong then you only "sinned" that much more.

But if you are atheist you could not increase that sin because you don't pray to another god.

Actually pascal's wager is based off inauthentic belief and is a proven fallacy from both sides.

Depending on which religion you are referring to, it doesn't mean you would sin more by believing in another god.

Yes, it wouldn't work anyways. I'm just stating his argument which, although false, I still think about it sometimes.

Should I spend my life searching for Kryptonite on the off-chance that Superman exists and wants to kill me?
