TaiG's apparently now claiming credits for the jailbreak:

Well now everyone is saying that this is a legit JB so what's the big deal?
They're only doing it because they know how stupid Iphone owners are
There's also the part where evaders were able to remotely disable TaiG which raises some concerns.

The Chinese App Store TaiG was being installed with all Chinese versions of iOS. There are rumors of TaiG collecting information and sending it back to China. Although Evaders claim this only affected Chinese devices, there are some traces of them on other devices.
TaiG also has plenty of pirated apps which pod2g is upset about.
First off, this was a rushed version of the iOS 7 Jailbreak. They pushed it so quick onto the web to beat the other "hackers" so they could keep the $1,000,000 TaiG paid them. They didn't even wait for the iOS 7 Cydia was released, they just made a hotfix so it runs but isn't optimized. Second, there is no outbound traffic from any non-Chinese devices, and still no proof that there is outbound traffic on the Chinese devices either. It seems TaiG is being funded though by one of China's biggest internet service providers, that could explain where the $1,000,000 paid to a opensource jailbreaking team came from. Leave it up to China to infringe on people's rights and invade their property just to be top on the market. evad3rs' team already pulled that bit of source out of the jailbreak, and TaiG will not be installed on any device that uses their jailbreak any longer.
tl;dl china being ******s, nerds being greedy

The million dollar deal was thrown out there by saurik. Currently, there is no proof that any actual money was exchanged between the groups. pod2g has also been refuting the claims. Second, there was an iOS 7 Cydia in the works, which the evad3rs supposedly had access to. They choose not to release the jailbreak with it. There's been no proof of outbound traffic from any non-Chinese devices; however, there are traces of it that could possibly happen. There is proof that there has been outbound traffic from Chinese devices after suspicious DNS modifications; however, there is no evidence of personal data being transferred.
Lastly, evasi0n has been updated to 1.0.1 which removes the function of TaiG being installed on the device.
