LOL. Getting an SSD will not boost your FPS in anyway.

But it's possible that your HDD is to slow for recording? What exactly lags? the game or the video (The recorded file)

your comment confuses me. SSD wont improve your FPS and its possible that the HDD is to slow for recording..interesting.

let me make that clear:

CS:GO isnt a very demanding game,but yet when you use fraps you need to write insane amounts of data to you SLOW hard drive,and that makes fraps lag and your entire computer lag,getting a SSD WILL improve your FPS,and SSDs in general are better.
you could also install your OS on it and use your current HDD as a storage solution for your videos.

SSD will not lower or raise your FPS, However when recording you need to write all the files to your HDD. Sometimes HDD can be to slow for it. Since you use it all for one. I think he has 1 2TBB hdd that means everything runs on that HDD so that will lower the total write speed for recording.

The game lags. i record at a constant 120 frames even when heavy things are going on in the game and suddenly theres just a random drop that goes to like 58 fps and then all the sound gets muffled for 1 second.

Doesnt SSD Help 'transfer' files quicker. Could that help?

There is no need for an SSD.
It will not give you 'higher' FPS.
What is the R/W Speed of your hard drive?
And, try using DXTORY, It is far superior to Fraps and doesn't knock down your fps nearly as much/

You won't notice any difference with FPS when your playing on a old HDD or super fast SSD the loading times however would be quicker

you are trying to make him not get a SSD that is 5x faster then an HDD,i dont understand why but sure.you probably cant tell since you dont have one.

I do have an SSD but you're a saying an SSD improves his FPS which it wont. It will help him recording his game and it porbally also solve his issue since the writespeed is much faster BUT IT wont boost your fps..

i have 2 hdd's. one with all my stuff in it and one is completely empty

I do have an SSD but you're a saying an SSD improves his FPS which it wont. It will help him recording his game and it porbally also solve his issue since the writespeed is much faster BUT IT wont boost your fps..

the game lags. its stable at 120 fps then just drops to like 50 and goes crazy then goes back to 120

Besides, all of the video captured from FRAPS is loaded straight into RAM until it can be written to disk, which makes it next to literally impossible for your rig to fall behind on write. Even beside that point, write speed has absolutely no correlation to framerate in any possible situation, recording or not. An SSD wouldn't solve even a single one of his issues.

Cheers guys. but i found a solution. I found a program called 'Shadowplay' which is i think created by geforce which updated my graphics card. this is amazing, it allows me to record + play at 400 fps + which is the best. Thanks for the help guys !
