Ya get both. They are both fun but in different ways.
Dayz mod is fun to play. If u have friends/Meet friends in-game and get cars, Guns and stuff u could make a camp and survive. First time I played I found a Belgium guy that helped me get my stuff back cuz I crashed a plane ;_; Later we became friends and we still are. We most likely play dayz every once in a week.

I tried to make friends in dayz sa but all 3 of them shot at me so I killed them all and now I'm forever alone

ArmA 3, just stay away from the SU-RU-Russian community and/or servers, they will give you a global ban at the end.
Why? because 95% of them use cheats/hacks for they can't play the game... and they hate you watching them doing so.
They also flood the global channel in Russian language speaking and IF you either complain or try to make friend, one of them will, after a few days of playing with them, finally get you BATTELEYE GLOBAL BAN for -*Get The Fuck Out Of Our Community"-

As previously stated, I was enjoying the "money drop bug" from the Russians until I pissed off too many by taking their bags...
