In short, Sjoerd and another guy scammed a scammer. They found out a guy had been scamming and stealing from MPGH members, and they tricked him and stole his money. They split the cash, (about $100 in all) and got banned after making a thread about it. Everything was a jumble because I remember Sjoerd asking Dave if it was OK beforehand and him saying yes. Sjoerd has been here for an eternity, and was trusted enough to get TM.

Wasn't Flengo in an almost identical situation a month or so ago? He didn't get banned so it leads me to think he didn't actually get Dave's permission to scam anyone. Of course, I don't know the specifics as I was just a leeching visitor when this happened. Is there any thread link or picture with proof of Dave's statement?
