They do exist, and I'm not trying to one up anyone, lol. Most high schools in the US have unweighted and weighted GPA scales. Unweighted, traditional GPA system have a max of 4.0. The weighted system, however, is up to a 5.0. Honors, AP, and IB courses count one more on the grading scale. e.g. A's count as as 5's, B's count as 4's, etc. All A's in AP Calculus, AP English, and AP Computer Science would result in a 5.0. Whereas on an unweighted scale, it would only be a 4.0.

They rank community colleges? And you can't get a BA/BS at a community college. I guess if you were only going for an associate degree or maybe a trade school for certification. In all other cases, a university is the better choice. Not knocking anyone who is going to CC.
