Summary:
So Gai's attacks didn't work even while hitting him fully. Why or how, idk. Lets chalk it up to "he's tough because he's the villain"
On consistency:
-That was supposed to work given naruto's self-defined weakness/strength bullshit. Like the main badguy is "immune to ninja techniques". Right, imagine if DBZ pulled that. "oh frieza is immune to super-saiyan". Pfft.
On strategy:
(god did we really need that pathetic strategy? Gai's supposed to be past the 5 kages and have the ultimate taijutsu, yet somehow Madara has ample time to react and the others to cheer him on, really? I mean the guy moves at practically instantaneous speeds and they use this time to use some pathetic "we'll help you buddy" stuff? Talk about no exception for filler.).
On techniques:
I felt like Gai's attacks were rather bland for a martial arts technique. It's kind of disappointing that his technique weren't a solid-type but just more energy blast. Not even using martial arts, but rather kind of classic "comic style" fighting.
On the ending:
Really? Not even a little bit of relevance in the segway just "*poof* here is the last panel, naruto's back!". Still holding the belief that Kishi is a crappy writer here.
