Dota 2. As others said it, League is just way to much easier.

Dying costs less, you don't lose that much gold and even if you get owned two or three times during the laning phase you still won't be that much behind. If you get killed or are forced to run back to your base two or three times during the laning phase in Dota, you are several levels and a lot of gold behind and it will be very tough for you to get back into the game.
Techniques in game- Denying for example, doesn't exist in Dota, neither does hedges and shit to hide in.
Personal opinion- Dota just looks better, the map and the characters.
Free vs pay - All heros vs 10 a week or you have to spend money.
Community and teamwork, someone says League requires more teamwork, that is bullshit lol. The team just runs around and does whatever or one person steps up to lead your asses, on Dota you can actually communicate with a mic/chat and find out whats going on.
Added bonus hate, My bf has over 1000 games played, yo fuck that shit.

I'm a veteran LoL player but here's my honest opinion.

If you're going to start a new MOBA, then you should definately get into Dota 2.

Why?

1-It's f2p. No p2w or real grinding.
2-It's hard so it basically guarantees that whatever MOBA you get into next will be easy.
3-Much better community than LoL. The main con about LoL is the community. You won't find a shittier community anywhere else.
4-Is really fun if you can get past the learning curve.
