Mechs? Code Geas ftw.
So I just saw the first 2 episode of Captain Earth, this series is looking really fucking good. Just like with Shingeki, I cried on episode 1, so me and this series are going places together.
Oh, and his mecha is powered by his life energy? Didn't know I was watching the next season of TTGL.
And Salty Dog? More like Salty ******. I'm hating this asshole already!
Anyways, I can't wait for more of this, it's looking awesome.
Edit: Apparently on top of the "Macbeth" plan thing, there's a lot of other Shakespeare references too, interesting shit.

I like it, but tbh I'm completely lost in the unanswered questions and confusing shit.
Yeah, that's what I love about it. Right now it's looking like we could have up to 3 different antagonists for different reasons, we have at least 2 confirmed.
It's pretty awesome, I love being left in suspense. I can't wait for next Saturday to see Daichi fight in a sabotaged suit because of that Salty Dog asshole and still kick ass.
I cried too.....out of boredom.
I've seen countless mech anime throughout the years. Code Geass, Gundam, Eureka 7, Evangelion, Macross, and a ton of other minor series.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet this is the only one to have no real reason for anyone to watch it:
It's not even attempting realism in the slightest, with the whole "dark side of the moon" thing, the whole prospect of combining the mecha for no reason whatsoever(why in the world would you need 2 space stations for that?).
But ok, no realism. So if you aren't going to do that, it should have some kickass mecha fighting or more explosions than michael bay or some political angle or some really intimidating badguys or even some interesting take on mecha......right?!!
Nope.
Why? This plot isn't interesting, the mechs.....is this a joke? These mechs are from 10+ years ago, look more like voltron than anything resembling modern mecha lol.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what we are left with is this:
(Summary)
A kid is chosen as the pilot to defend the earth against the other chosen kids who are attacking the earth and attack from the moon.
The mechs sucks. It's the equivalent of "nothing special" for both the good and the bad guy side.
The plot so far, isn't interesting. "chosen children" is overdone, especially in anime. The badguys seem to be so goddamn generic its frightening.
They already re-used animation from the first episode on the second episode. Cmon bones, stop being so lazy. The animation is already pretty "meh" for the most part, you can't be re-using scenes by the second goddamn episode.
-------------------------------------
I'm sorry, this series brings nothing to the table. Seeing as how the genre is already saturated, it needs to bring something other series don't. If it was over-the-top I could excuse it's unrealistic everything and cartoony setting, as is, it's just another mech anime out there to be a cash-grab on mecha-fans.

Except I hate 90% of Mecha anime and I'm finding this interesting enough to warrant my attention.
I think it's going to start making more sense when we start learning more about the series, a lot of series start off really slow but then end up being good.
I also though the Mechs looked pretty cool.
