A serious question from a clean player to "your" community - Why?

He made a thread, left, and then came back after 6 months to check for responses. I wonder what made him randomly decide to check the responses.

I'm not sure that I will post here again, maybe I will keep an eye out for any replies. I honestly forgot about it towards christmas due to my work schedule and aside from spending most of my time in the garage getting ready for the next week I haven't been too active in the gaming community any more.
