A "Try out" item hack for TF2

I already know that unlocking items right away isn't possible, so i thought a bit and
it might be possible to make a hack where you can get any item free in shop
when you press "Try out" you get the item for a week only but there might be
a hack where that could be expanded permanently right?

I doubt it. All items are server-side so unless you were jesus you wouldn't be able to do it

Though there used to be an exploit to change your item type. That was done by editing your games items.txt

Yeah, probably like back in 2004 or whenever tf2 was released. If that was still a thing then I think almost everyone would have unusuals and stranges. Like I said, weapons and items are server side to stop blatant editing

I've worked on this. It did work for awhile but only you could see it. Your inventory is also server sided so you can't go offline and change everything like I did. Name changes only on your screen and such. If you removed the ID for it the gun became invisible or warped.

i got an idea, make a video bout it, change all your cheap hats to unusual quality, and try craft it.
get loads of view and like, earn money, profit

(though it doesnt make sense, it would be a one video id like to watch)
