I believe you should use the brush tool instead of the pencil tool, as it's too sharp and edgy.
Some parts of the image look "damaged" (hand, hair, mouth...) so you should pay a little more attention to that.

Of course, those comments are from a graphic standpoint as i know nothing about drawing. (Unluckily)

I think the whole concept was well put, you seem to just need to work on the hands, feet and face. Did you happen to use MSpaint for this?

Really good for your first time have you tried buying a Drawing tablet its alot easier if not you can straighten things up with the Pen tool its good for mouse drawing!
