Is North Korea Actually a Threat to the Western world

Kim-jong-un claims to have Nuclear weapons, and has threatened USA and other western nations.
Should these threats be taken seriously?
In my opinion the only thing Kim-jong-un can attack is a pudding but what do other people think, is it worth worrying about.
Should we enlist?

No not exactly, while they do have rockets they can't exactly shoot them without being instantly killed first. NK's being watched over constantly not to mention they recently have gone awry with their only ally China when they were found shooting in there airspace I believe? () But I know someone happened between them that made there alliance go sour.

Well they have a large army, so a land invasion would obviously cost casualties. But they're heavily monitored so I don't think we really need to worry about them.

Well in the Korean war, North Korea smashed South and would have taken it over if it weren't for UN intervention. Now though....no. I agree that while North may have an initial military advantage, their appalling quality of life and economy would lead to their ruin in even a local war, let alone an international conflict.

North Korea doesn't have nuclear weapons that can reach the United States.
They do, however, have nukes aimed right at Seoul, South Korea. That would be a devastating hit. So I believe we're right in keeping a watchful eye on the North.

Don't think so,just need to a computer worm inside their Nuclear program, like Iran, and just screw them up real bad. I know is more difficult than that.

Even if Kim Jong un had nuclear weapons he wouldn't be crazy enough to fire them because once he fires a nuclear missile at a NATO member state North Korea would be completely obliterated by NATO and if he fired at china or a known NATO member state North Korea would probably also be destroyed and Europe and north america have ground to air missiles that would shoot down the nukes

I know bump may be a bit late, but just replying to Gerry, and yeah I agree; even though Kim Jong is clearly a loose cannon, I just don't think North Korea are a legit threat to anybody in the Western World. They have the 4th largest army in the world, but whether it can be supported in anything other then a brief war remains to be seen.

North Korea, is a threat, but only to the south. their Air-force is using cold war era figthers, only have a few pilots, with little to no fuel. Their navy is the same, no fuel. their army on the other had is a much bigger threat, 950,000 - 1,000,000 active personal and 4,500,000 reservists, its a war of attrition, land war anyway.
