Works with pretty much all fast food places. Some have a longer process. If they ask for a receipt, you can usually just say I never keep my receipts and I threw it out and it'll still be fine.

The only reason they do this is because it's dirt cheap for them, rather than losing a customer and risk getting worse reputation than they already have.
They'd rather just give you free shit to shut you up.

Try doing it more than once at the same restaurant in a short period of time.

I worked at a McDonalds a while ago, basically we aren't allowed to say no that you didn't get your food. If you do it too often though you would get banned from the store. So if someone has no money or doesn't care you can just tell them some bs story and get free f00d.
