[Noob Request] Beginners Tutorial Wanted

I'm new to Photoshop and I am looking for a few good beginners tutorials to get me into the swing of things.
I'm quite aware that there are many tutorials on the web but I was wanting to know which ones you would recommend.
I am thinking something to do with abstract or effects for signatures.

Go on DeviantART or youtube they have the bulk of basic tutorials I suggest you get a broad range of things you want to do and not become shitty signature makers like most of this section

My personal advice is to ignore tutorials as much as possible.
I feel they make you think in a box and you'd end up mixing them together to make your art, but never actually developing your very own.
Ofc i may be wrong, and of course tutorials aimed to use all photoshop/gimp's tools are always a boon.

Let's just say that i started from zero and i feel tutorials were unnecessary. =)

I have found quite a few things of DeviantArt I think I would like to try.
I will post some of my work once I have got the hang of it.
