I'm just going to pretend you still believe playing at 1080P and 60hz is best, and SLI will give you no performance upgrade at all once you push past 1080p. The fact is, they scale >really< well at higher resolutions. Try a game at 1440P@144Hz on a single card, then with two. There is a vast difference.
