I found a great post on /r/NewToTheNavy that linked to a website showing you how to train, and get in shape, before boot camp. https://www.navy-pr*****m/index.html
I've always wondered what exercises I need to master before going into Boot Camp. After reading this over a month ago, I can proudly say, I have improved a shit ton in all of the categories.

And what if I don't want to go in a US navy bootcamp but just want to get in shape? Is this still helpful then?

Yes, but there are other sites/guides that can get you in shape, for daily things.
Reddi*****m/r/Fitness is a great way to start.
Edit: This site is mainly to get you in shape, so you can pass the physical expectations of Boot Camp.
This remind me of this video for no reason.
