Karams not a bitch!
So, i set up my cp monitor to play PS3 on. Works fine. I am sitting down stairs and i shouldnt have done this. All my shit was cluttered up. And the PS3 was set up right so the holes are aiming upwards. I set my cup of SODA down ( yes you heard right SODA ) in between my 2 monitors. I pick up my headphones and the soda spills down INTO the PS3. Im like fuck... It wouldnt turn on and it smoked a little bit. I smelled inside and it smelt like it was fried. So i open up WHAT I CAN of the PS3, and try cleaning the inside a little. ( remember: SODA corrodes wiring and shit ) there was nothing else i could do. I waited 2 days, tried plugging it in. It turns on. IM LIKE WTF, so im like it may turn on but the picture and everything is fucked. I try it, everything works like it never happened. Idk how it survived a 1/100 chance. But it works brand new.

Buy some Isopropryle Alcohol, squeeze some of the liquid onto the the PS3's motherboard, take a brush, and start scrubbing.
This is probably the most home efficient thing I can think of. I just repaired a PS3, where the owner of it spilt coffee in it. All I did was take all of the parts out, put them in a Saponifier wash filled with Isopropryl alcohol, and let it clean for an hour or two. Then I put it in the dehydrator put thermal paste on the GPU, CPU, etc.. After I put the parts back together, the PS3 worked.
That might not be the case with your PS3. If it's completely screwed, take the HDD, and put your current HDD in a new PS3.

Atleast you didn't destroy it.
