vac banned for not hacking (had files downloaded not used)

i just got banned on my main... i had no hacks loaded, i had stuff on another hard drive encrypted... i'm just speechless, they scan deep in hard drives now? what can i do about this... i'm not a cheater in this instance, especially after being in a game with a dude on the other team who WAS walling and being obvious.

well i'm scared to log into my alt until i hear from steam support. cuz i just want a log of what was found honestly so i can find/remove whatever is lying around.

I have never heard about being VAC banned for not hacking. Either it is a delayed VAC ban OR you were hacking in some way and the overwatch decided you were hacking.

When you are VAC banned there is no way of getting that VAC ban removed... It sucks, it has happened to me too.


By the way man, if you have any Executable file or and .DLL's that are not usually in CS:GO it is a possibilty that other people have used that and it has been "detected" if you will even if it is not a hack or a game advantage, you may still get banned from that.

For example if you got some sort of Crosshair custom modification that runs while you play CS:GO that may cause the VAC ban also... Not often but sometimes.. yes.

Steam support most likely won't disclose what they detected on your computer because they don't like giving that information away. This would allow hackers to know if their hacks were detected or not. Best of luck OP.
