Got my new turntable (+ record talk)

Got it for $200 (even though it goes on Amazon $100 off for $150, turntables are known for breaking mid-ship; happened to me before) via local record store.



Bumpin' RTJ2.
Hoping to get a new cartridge soon, but that's another $150.


Anyone else here collect records? It's been a while since I asked this, so maybe I'll get some new answers.

Most people that hold onto this kind of stuff have extremely popular artists that sell for $1 if you're lucky.
If you want, I can go over the albums with you to evaulate the pricing some time. Just hit me up whenever.

The ONLY way for people to listen to specific albums was via records. No CDs, no tapes, maybe 8 tracks if you're a fucking rich-ass nerd, but besides that nothing.
So sure, your (generic 60's rock band) album might seem really expensive, but it isn't when you realize it's been pressed over 200 times (which comes out to well over 1,000,000 records).
