Got a new fish tank, but I need fish suggestions.

I just recently bought a 29 gallon tank that was on sale at Petco and I finally got it setup.

Here's the massive box that it came in (Bonus kitten found inside)



Here's the Tank (Filled it up with the Black Sand that I bought)



Here is the final product (No fishies yet )




My question was, what do you guys recommend I put in it? I have a $75 budget, and this is for freshwater fish only. The fish must get along with others, and I don't mind how big they get. Any recommendations?

Hmmm...

You should start off with a Iranian Desert Shark because I heard those fishes would make your tank explode with coolness. Also you should probably add some Nigerian Mud Penguins as well, they have the ability to swim so it's all fair game.

I added sand instead of gravel, and I already have a filter :3. The log is in there for now, as I'm deciding if I want to buy it from my friend ($35). I was thinking of some sort Spongebob theme or something.

Stick in some fish like anglerfish or those rainbow colored ones from walmart as well

Plus they're so boring. My friend's gold fish died within a week, and he takes care of all of his fish.
