5% of the population is still billions, and considering how many billions of people live in 3rd world nations
makes that 5% more like 50% of educated nations, making you sir nothing special
O.o
SAT is just for getting into college lulz.
Anyone is capable of getting 2000+ but do they rly care?
I'll admit some ppl are bad at test, but if you really just study, you will get 2k.
The thing is, you can't relate the SAT to IQ.
I didn't study, took a gradeschool calc(+-%*) and got a 1600. Now do i give a shit? No, i got into the college i wanted to get into to and took the classes i wanted.
-.- IQ don't mean shit either, half of the IQ test you take are mutiple choice, leaving you with an actuall % to get it right if you don't know it.
Honestly, ppl need to realize that IQ doesn't mean your smarter than others, it just means you needed to take an IQ test for self-esteem.
bein smart is overrated
5% of human population is approx. 300,000,000
I checked the scale.
2180 is at the 99th percentile.
1% of human population is 60,000,000
Considering SAT is mostly national, only 3 million people in the United States can get 2180+.
Furthermore, 300,000,000 includes adults and infants.
If you considered only the graduating year, the amount of people in your grade that has 2180+ is less than 15,000.
The majority of the tests available cannot be used to give an accurate measure of IQ because they include questions pertaining to cultural information. A true IQ test should examine how we process shapes and sequences and should not contain questions asking about the author of a certain novel (just an example). You may have the ability to assimilate information and apply it to an academic test but this is not an accurate measure of IQ.
This thread was clearly created to massage your ego, which shouldn't be necessary if you were truly comfortable with your level of intelligence.
The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn.
I agree with the OP.
I don't know what you're talking about. SAT tests don't ask you for the author of a novel. They expect you to read something and understand it. After doing so, you need to form your own conclusion based on the facts or events in the novel.
If critical thinking isn't a huge part of IQ, I don't know what is.
It's always the same with the SAT-IQ debate.
Those who got 2000+ always advocate for the correlation.
Those who got 2000- always advocate for no correlation.
Either way, both sides of the debate are trying to "massage their ego".
Not entirely. I have no knowledge of the marking system applied where you're from, so the numbers are irrelevant. An SAT test is not a true measure of intelligence. Shapes and sequences only. There are some relevant questions in most SAT tests but they are accompanied by other questions with cultural elements.

Are you a liberal?
Something that frustrates me is how when one race of people consistently does shitty on an IQ exam, most people are quick to assume that the test is culturally bias. When are we going to admit that every race evolved differently?
Anyway, I have taken the SATs 3 times. None of the questions in the test were "culturally bias".
I'm sayin that IQ test you take yourself, on your own time, and then try and brag about it are.
If your required, then thats a no.
-hyperion, If you got an A on a test, and your friend got a B.
You would think that you were smarter right?
Thats basically what it all boils down to.
