I'm New to Anime. Whats a Good Anime for Me?

After years my friends finally convinced me to watch anime so I just watched Sword Art Online and I actually enjoyed it. I looking for another one with a good plot, art style and characters. Is kill la kill or attack on titan any good?

Watch SAO 2. Trust me, you'll enjoy it.

AoT is brilliantly written, but is swarmed by fanboys.

If you like heavy shit, I'd recommend Gantz, Akame Ga Kill, School Days, Another, Mirai Nikki (is very yandere, yandere princess), and a really fucked up one is Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni.
If you like non-heavy shit, I'd recommend AoT, Full Metal Alchemist (the plot is heavy but not too much).

Also watch Death Note.

If youre in to comedy and randomness, Plastic Nee-san and Nichijou should do it.
Plastic Nee-san is short episodes around 2-3min each episode.

Desert Punk has very little mature content.
HoTD is just fanservice, no nudity.
Rosario + Vampire is like...90's fanservice.

The problem with these threads are that people that can count all the anime they've watched with their fingers come and say "go watch naruto, black bullet and avatar legends of korra" and then the ones that could give actually decent recommendations come and say "Avatar is not even an anime, Black Bullet was terrible and Naruto is bad. Go watch Shinsekai Yori, Serial Experiments Lain, Ergo Proxy and [insert some obscure shit here] instead."

In the end very few good recommendations were made. I was a bit surprised no one mentioned Boku no Pico.

I'll thrown in the ones that I think I should've watched when I started watching anime:

Guilty Crown (this is probably the one that most people would disagree with)
