    Help Choosing New Laptop

Okay, so I'm buying a new laptop and I can't decide what I want. I'm getting something around the 700-800 dollar range, give or take a little bit I guess. Definately no more than $1000. I know I want something with 4GB DDR3 memory and maybe one of the larger screen models. I'm looking at possibly some models between HP, Sony, and Toshiba. I definately will NOT be getting a DELL or a mac, so don't suggest something from those. I find it more difficult to play games with a mac since most games are windows only, and I hate fucking dell computers. Any help on some good computers would be nice. I'm probably going to Best Buy Wednesday to get it.

4GB Ram and a wide screen under $1000?

    Good fucking luck.

Hope you like 25gig HDDs and no cooling system.

Dude, most of the laptops at best buy now are at least 3 Gig Ram and 250gig hard drives. The one's I've been looking at are under $1000, 4 GB Memory and 250 or 500 GB hard drive. So, no, I'm not stupid. I'm just trying to figure out which machine will be the best machine. I think with most of them, the biggest difference in price is whether or not they will play Blue Ray discs, which I could give a fuck about.

I suggest something from HP with windows 7 installed..
Also, smaller screens are better for portability.. (I have a 17 inch HP laptop.. fits in fucking nothing)
Also HP has a great industry refurbished laptop program if you're looking to save money, I've bought one as a gift before.. they're just like new.

Yeah 15" screens are much more portable and you hardly lose any screen space.

Yea stay away from DELL, I always recommend brands like ASUS / HP / Acer for laptops

P.s. Laptops are shite, they make great doorstops or paperweights, thats about it

My phone has more features than most current laptops, it doesn't overheat and the battery lasts longer

Back to topic at hand. What ya'll think about the HP DV7 series or the DV6 series? The ones they have at Best Buy.

Do you have a specific model number? Just googled them, seems to be a few different models / options for both series

What will you be mainly using this for, any design work or gaming? If not you can cut costs and power use by getting

one with mid-range GFX then focus on you CPU and RAM
