What does replacing models do?

I see people replacing guns with other ones. Like the mp7 with the mp7 MOD. Besides visuals, how does this benefit you? Does it change the recoil, ROF, or damage?

It helps get you more kills by atracting you visually by the nice designs.

Yes, RoF can be changed. If you use the M16A3 mod that makes it into a minigun, your M16 will appear to be a minigun and your RoF will be that of a minigun. However, your mag size and damage will be the same. Also, there's an L96 mod that makes it appear to be an SR-25 camo and has the same RoF of an SR-25 (also has been said to possibly have the same accuracy as the SR-25 although nobody is sure). It retains the same damage though as the L96. That is probably the best mod out there in my opinion.
