Thick Haze Blankets Metro Vancouver Sky Sunday Morning

Residents across Metro Vancouver and other parts of B.C. woke to the sight of a thick haze in the sky Sunday morning as the province’s wildfire season continues to escalate.

The Coastal Fire Centre says the haze is a product of smoke from B.C.’s interior blowing out to the coast.

“Usually on the coast, we get the winds that blow from the ocean to the interior. Last night and today, they switched around and smoke and ash from fires in the interior are blowing out to the coast,” said Donna MacPherson of the Coastal Fire Centre.

“Some places, that smoke has piled up pretty thick. We’re here in Parksville and we’ve got an orange sky.”

Tunisia Declares State of Emergency After Beach Massacre

TUNIS, Tunisia – Tunisia’s president declared a state of emergency on Saturday in response to a second deadly attack on foreigners in three months, saying the country is “not safe” and risks collapse from further extremist attacks.

With a nationwide televised address, President Beji Caid Essebsi officially reintroduced urgent security measures for Tunisia that had been lifted in March 2014.

Several Fires in the Kootenays, One Evacuation Alert Issued

There are a number of fires in the Kootenays that crews are battling, and one evacuation alert has been issued northeast of Nelson.

An evacuation alert was issued for about 350 homes along Highway 3A between Sitkum Creek South and Willow Point (Six Mile Lakes Road), some 10 kilometres northeast of Nelson.

Amazon Echo

Earlier this week Amazon released the Amazon Echo. The Amazon Echo is a speaker that listens to you, takes commands, and answers questions. Think of it as another Siri. Amazon unveiled the Echo earlier this year but an official release date would not be made public until some time later. Now consumers can finally buy the Echo straight from Amazon. Its a unique piece of tech that almost enables you to control your entire home. With the right equipment you can connect your TV's, air conditioning, and even your home security unit with the Echo. On top of that, you also get a great set of speakers as well. Amazon also released a developer kit so that other companies could start developing applications for the Echo as well. The possibilities for the Echo are endless. The Echo costs $179.99 and will be in stock on July 19.

The Sphericam 2

Introducing the Sphericam 2, a 4K 360 Degree Camera built for the virtual reality era. The doors for VR has just opened and with that comes new innovative ways to create or capture a 360 degree environment. With that in mind, there aren't a lot of 360 degree cameras out there in the market for consumer use. This poses a problem for people who want to get into the VR world but don't have the tools to do so. The Sphericam 2 solves that problem. Currently in its Kickstarter phase, the Sphericam 2 aims to solve the problem by allowing photographers and any day people to capture 360 degree footage in 4K quality. The quality is set to 60 FPS and with a built in WiFi and Bluetooth feature you can stream the video anywhere and upload the video anywhere as well. The Sphericam 2 is the second version of the Sphericam (duh) and it follows its predecessor the Sphericam which was shipped in 2013. The Sphericam actually holds the world record for the largest panorama photo.

Lab Zero Games Announce Action-RPG "Indivisible"

Many people know Lab Zero for their creation of the fighting game "Skullgirls" and it unique art style the game is to be inspired by games such as Metroid and Valkrie Profile.

If your as hyped as I am for this you can support it when it hits indiegogo there is no official date on when that will happen just yet

Arkham Knight problems were known months prior to launch

Things will not be getting better WB as two separate sources, speaking anonymously revealed that WB knew the game was not yet ready for PC

“I will say that it’s pretty rich for WB to act like they had no idea the game was in such a horrible state,” said one quality assurance tester who worked on the game for years. “It’s been like this for months and all the problems we see now were the exact same, unchanged, almost a year ago.”

"We reported literally thousands of bugs that were specific to the PC version relating to the frame rate,"

"All sorts of fucked up texture issues. The Batmobile in particular has always fucked things up on PC."

With all of this coming out I really hope this is a wake up call for WB and shows them to actually spent effort on the PC and not throw it off as something to be fixed by day one patches etc.
