I feel as if everyone has encountered an impulse at some point in their lives that lead them to think that (for a moment at least) being alive isn't worth their emotional distress. It's important to identify whether or not it's caused by mania, or simply part of the human condition.

In my own life, I grew up in a difficult environment. For a large part of my life, living was a struggle. Now, my life is easy, and the bills are always paid, but in some weird way, I'm more depressed now then I ever was growing up, or while I was enlisted sitting in 110f weather in a war I didn't believe in, in a country that didn't honor our sacrifices.

Ultimately, I think we all need a little pain in our lives. It reminds me I'm real.
