I used to have severe anxiety and panic attacks and trust me, it's not fun. It can quickly get to the point where you are on the ground shaking and wanting to end your life. You need to re-evaluate your social, and obviously your reading skills.

OP: I used to have severe anxiety and panic attacks. They weren't frequent, but if I got too stressed I would hole up in a corner of my room with noise canceling headphones on with no music playing for hours at a time. I refused to get help from anybody and was stuck on the idea that I could remedy it myself. Let me tell you seeing a doctor is the best thing you can do, and I'm so glad you're doing it. The other thing is you need to talk to people. It sounds easy but for me it was really hard to admit I had a problem even though I knew I had to fix it. If you ever need somebody to talk to, you can add me on Skype if you want. Otherwise talk to friends, family, teachers, teammates, coaches, professors, anybody close to you. Choose someone you really trust. This is important. Letting your feelings out may sound a little generic and I know everyone says it, but trust me it works. Letting them off your chest is a huge help. Another thing that helped me is finding a new love of different calming types of music as well as slow breathing exercises.
